Matt Tempesta is a U.S. Army Veteran, lifelong angler, and Orvis-endorsed fly fishing guide based in Palmer, Massachusetts.
He started Tempco Fly Fishing with a simple belief: great days on the river should be approachable, educational, and meaningful.
Our home waters include the Swift River, the Deerfield River, and a network of quiet blue line streams across Central and Western Massachusetts.
Each trip starts with a quick conversation to understand what the angler wants to accomplish. Some guests are learning to cast for the first time.
Others are dialing in their dry fly presentation or looking to accelerate the learning curve on tight line tacticts.
Once goals are clear, we’ll look at dates, lock in the trip, and send a confirmation with a printable trip certificate.
A $100 deposit secures the day, and trips can be canceled or rescheduled up to seven days prior for a full refund.
Matt took my dad and brother-in-law on a full-day fishing trip, and we had an awesome time. We were all total noobs, but he was endlessly patient, and the look on my dad's face when he caught his first fish was priceless. It was a truly memorable day and I highly recommend!

Had a great day drift fishing on the Swift River with my son & Matt. Learned much about different fly techniques. Mat is a fine fisherman & instructor. Makes you feel right at home.

I booked Matt based on his reviews here and I couldn’t recommend anyone more highly. He is knowledgeable, engaging, figures out your needs and works his tail off to make your day.
